Traditional Corned Beef



Freirich Corned Beef


Remove corned beef from package and place in pot with excess juices. Cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer slowly (do not boil) for approximately 3 hours or until fork tender. Cooking time will vary. After corned beef is fork tender remove it from heat and let it sit for 15 minutes before removing from water and slicing. Freirich corned beef does not require the addition of any spices. You can spice things up by adding some bay leaf, coriander seed, mustard seed, and allspice to the cooking water, but this is not necessary.
