Freirich Porkette

Peeled whole potatoes

Scraped whole carrots

Peeled whole onions

Cabbage, cut into wedges


Place Porkette in a deep kettle. Cover with cold water, cover and bring water rapidly to boiling, then lower heat and simmer gently. Allow to simmer 45 minutes per pound. About 30 minutes before end of cooking period add peeled whole potatoes, scraped whole carrots and peeled whole onions. Cover and continue cooking another 10 minutes . . . then add washed cabbage, cut into wedges. Cook the final 20 minutes, or until all vegetables are tender. These vegetables combine well with Porkette (cook separately): String Beans, Beet Greens, Turnips, Broccoli, Cabbage, Spinach
